Reason for Admittance: No known family or relatives

Notes: Brought to the orphanage after time with healer. Has lost his right arm. Appears to be from savage animal bite. Found approximately a week ago by the hunter Szoldarovich, half-dead, left him with the witch at Third Eye Potions for care. Was in shock, does not speak of a family. Suspect may be victim of recent wolf attack, two adults dead in woods the hunter also found.

6 Month Check: 12th Moon 14th Day, 718

Not well acclimated to the orphanage. Has emerged a hotheaded presence. Easy for other children to goad given his lost arm and proclivity to provocation. Other boys treat it like games - sticking a bullcow to give chase - perpetuating outbursts. Chaperone Belasco suggests he may be prone to violence, especially given exceptional size, despite the disability. Either does not remember incident that brought him here and family before - or won’t say. Will reassess continued residence at one year or at precipitating incident.

Update: 4th Moon 25th Day, 719

Multiple precipitating incidents. Several orphans - boys - are dead. All boys seen “bullcowing” Izek. Vanished, bodies later discovered disposed in back of barns at the Pens - beaten and strangled. Izek, as stablehand at the Pens, was obvious suspect. Did not deny it, stayed silent - showed little remorse or even affect. Summoned town guard, boy is with Burgomaster for judgment.

Update: 4th Moon 26th Day, 719

Not the expected outcome. Izek taken into Baron Vallakovich’s household. Does not appear punishment is forthcoming. Unsettling implications.
